American Honda Motor Co., Ltd. revieled the new Accord Coupe Concept for the next-generation, along with key technologies for safety, fuel efficiency and performance, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
The Accord is Honda’s best-selling model in North America and its debut at NAIAS marks the first time that an Accord concept vehicle has ever been shown at a major auto show.

It was reported in Japan Times that Toyota Motor Corp.’s Corolla compact was the top seller in Japan for the fourth year in a row in 2006 despite a fall in sales.
Toyota fully remodeled the Corolla sedan and station wagon in October for the first time in about six years. This helped boost Corolla sales toward the yearend, but 2006 sales were still lower than the year before. Toyota’s Vitz and Honda Motor Co.’s Fit, both compacts, remained in second and third place, the association said. Sales of the Vitz dropped 10.8 percent to 117,641 vehicles, while those of the Fit slid 19.1 percent to 101,793 vehicles.
Toyota held seven of the top 10 spots and Honda took two. Only one Nissan Motor Co. model was in the top 10, with the Serena minivan ranking fifth.
